Hey Gang! As you may already know, The North Florida Fair is right around the corner. Well, The Trash Cinema Collective has taken it upon ourselves to provide you with a crash course in cautionary tales to get you good and ready for the oncoming carny carnage!
Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988) PG-13
The one and only writing and directorial effort from visual effects legends, The Chiodo Brothers (Ernest Scared Stupid, Critters, Team America: World Police) "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" tells the heartwarming tale of a small town, not unlike Tallahassee, which is invaded and terrorized by an alien race that strongly resemble demented, evil, misshapen clowns. Only a few of the town's residents realize the danger of these blood sucking, murderous aliens. Will they be able to convince the authorities in time or will the entire town be cocooned in cotton candy and taken aboard the Killer Klown's spaceship to the stars like so much fast food take out?
The Funhouse (1981) R
Tobe Hooper's 1981 Fair-centric spookhouse of a slasher film tells the tale of young Amy Harper (Elizabeth Berridge from "Amadeus") who is going out on a blind date to the local county fair! What starts of as an awkward first date begins to blossom, that is, until they witness a horrifying murder and now must evade a sadistic carnival barker and his psychotic, mutant, sexually frustrated son while trapped withing The Funhouse. Director Tobe Hooper spins a down and dirty, brutal and imaginative horror flick that delivers the goods in spades!
So come one, come all, for a night of Carnival themed sights and frights that will chill your blood, tickle your funny bone and boggle your cotton pickin' mind! Step right in for Trash Cinema nights at Bird's Aphrodisiac Oyster Shack! You'll scream! You'll laugh! You might just learn a little something about yourself;) Hell, what a trip to the fair without some Blood, Breasts and Beasts? It's Trash cinema Night, baby!
